Spread across the pages of this book is a message that is written in simple language for easy understanding. The book espouses the importance of chaste living by speaking candidly on sexual adventures and how they have killed the dreams of many young people.

The exposition of this book is based on an unfortunate incident that took place in King David's family between two of his children - Tamar and Amnon, as captured in the book of 2 Samuel chapter 13.

Thrills That Kill Dreams is illustrated using real life stories for young people to easily understand and identify with, even as they endeavour to uphold purity and godliness, which are essential ingredients in the process of waiting upon God for the dreams of their lives to come true.

Ruth Samuel (pictured) was brought up in the Kisasi area of Kitui County. She started working as a trained teacher after graduating from Egerton University, Njoro Campus, in 2001. She got married to Samuel Wambua in 2004, and they are blessed with three sons.

Having been born to parents who held strong Christian values, Ruth purposed to lead a successful Christian life. Her dreams came true when she successfully completed her education and got married to her husband in holy matrimony.

Her service as a Christian Union (CU) patron as well as working in her school's Guidance and Counselling department have given her a great wealth of experience in dealing with the youth. She is also involved as a leader in the Ladies Ministry of her church.
